Happy Monday!

While pre-k/k group went off to the farm, everyone else stayed back at Wee Friends to start off their week! Ruby and a few of her peers stationed themselves at the art table where they used markers and stencils to create with!

Franklin took the lead as he gave several children rides on the trailer bike! This job requires quite a lot of leg muscle and determination.

DSCN9929DSCN9939

At the farm, our pre-k/k group started off by picking a few fresh strawberries to eat while we waited for Miss Charlotte to join us! She surprised us by letting us feed the baby kids their bottles! We loved helping and later on in the morning, we got to feed the adult goats their grain breakfast.

Afterwards, we went into the white barn where we helped Miss Charlotte transport the turkeys into a new cage. The cage they were in was getting a little too cramped! We did a fantastic job transferring the turkeys to their new cage.

Anna had a group of kids around her as she massaged their backs. They didn’t want to leave her!

We ended our morning at the farm with a chance to sit on the tractor! Grady yelled, “I’m going 30 miles per hour!”

We LOVE our farm adventures!

Happy Monday! We hope you all had a fabulous and much cooler weekend.

Today we welcome a new little friend that is one year old. He and his family will make an awesome addition to our Wee Wee family. Smile

To get our Monday started, Mack thought it would be a fantastic idea to lounge on the swing. Monday’s can sometimes get off to a slower start and what better way to acclimate ourselves than some swing time.

DSCN4195DSCN4197

As outside time rolled around we all found our spunk! We were very excited to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather and get ourselves engaged in all the fun activities, along with…. hanging with the big kids at Wee World. Smile

Good Afternoon!

The one word to describe our day: HELPFUL.

We started off our morning helping Miss Kim make homemade coconut banana ice cream. First, we all contributed to measuring out the ingredients and putting them into the blender.

DSCN9799DSCN9807DSCN9810

We took a break to smell the vanilla. Most friends liked the smell while a few thought it was a little..different Smile.

DSCN9820DSCN9819

Once the ingredients were all blended together, a few friends helped Miss Kim pour the mixture into ice cube trays. We froze them for a few hours before blending it back up to make ice cream!

DSCN9845DSCN9849

Our helpfulness didn’t end there. We had flowers that we needed to plant so several friends offered their service to Miss Melinda as they filled all of the empty pots with flowers.

Good Afternoon!

In pre-k/k group, we read a story titled, ‘I am Planet Earth’. Throughout the story, we learned about things that make up our planet such as mountains, cities, towns, animals, and people just to name a few! After we finished reading the story, we observed both a map and a globe. We started a list of things we saw on each or things we didn’t see!

Lucy transferred this line of thinking onto her journal. She missed the globe activity earlier in the day so she wanted to draw her own globe!

Social Studies: K.3.2 Identify maps and globes as ways of representing Earth and understand differences between a map/globe.

DSCN9786DSCN9789DSCN9784

An art activity was made available this morning. First, we talked about the globe in front of us as well as different pictures of the Earth that we were able to look at. We used blue and green paint to represent land and water. Franklin used his paint brush tip to replicate water!

DSCN9716DSCN9730DSCN9717

The welcome activity focused on sorting puff balls based on size. Grady and Ruby took tongs and sorted the puff balls into two different jars: big and small.

Good Afternoon!

Trains were the hot ticket activity of the morning! Mack and his friends were “choo-chooing” all over the classroom today. Watching the concentration levels with our friends while they piece the tracks together is amazing. We just LOVE watching our little Wee Wee’s grow into such awesome little big people.

Zoe worked on manipulating a peg into her heart peg board. Her hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills are being put to the test and Zoe did very well. We also had some other friends utilizing their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as well, but with puzzles.

Good Afternoon!

This morning we all said hello to our fish as we watched them swim around while playing peek-a-boo with a friend.

DSCN4018DSCN4020

When we went outside, we noticed a new steam roller and cement truck in the rock area.  We enjoyed checking them out and seeing how they work.  The sandbox dump trucks were also popular today as we were busy filling them with sand, pushing them to the area we wanted to play and dumping it.

Happy Tuesday!

**Wee Friends will be closed Thursday, June 28th through Friday, July 6th. We’ll reopen Monday, July 9th! Thanks.

Over the weekend, Maddie turned SIX years old! She brought in a treat to share with the class! We hope you had the best birthday.

We welcomed a new friend today as she made the journey across the bridge from Wee Wee Friends! She’s been visiting for the last couple of weeks and we’re so excited she’s finally apart of our classroom!

DSCN9600DSCN9606

Our day consisted of using our hands in a variety of ways.

Maxwell lined up the counting bears in a design and used his index finger to count them while Chloe used pretend tools at the work bench.

DSCN9589DSCN9603DSCN9617

It was quite warm out this morning so we went out for a little bit before lunchtime. We checked on the garden and made sure our future veggies had enough to drink!

Good Afternoon! We hope you all enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend.

Thank you Bre and Justin Bulla for your generous donation of bobby pillows, sleep sacks and soft toys for our little ones to enjoy! Wee Wee always loves getting donations!

As June is quickly approaching, please note that Wee Friends will be CLOSED for our annual summer vacation from June 28th to July 6th. We will resume care on July 9th.

What a hot day! Wee Wee decided we would get outside early this morning and beat the heat. We had a great time engaging ourselves in multiple activities available to us.

We rocked away on the teeter-totters, searched for bugs, played in the pea gravel and got some shade in the little house while playing with cars and trucks. We didn’t let a little heat get us down!

DSCN3951DSCN3974

DSCN3976DSCN3981

Once we came in from outside, friends thought it would be a fantastic idea to do summersault flips. Getting some guidance from Miss Marty was needed, but we had so much fun! Just look at those huge smiles at the end of our flip. Smile
