Welcome back!
Our day began with a conversation about how we reconnect after long absences. One friend was lovingly mauled by three other friends: “Play with us! We want you to play with us! Why aren’t you playing with us?” We discussed space and time and gentle inquiries. We redirected our energies to LITERACY FAB K.3.3 and acted out Max’s Breakfast, exploring character, plot and setting.
We had a group Bob Book read and explored how to string sounds together to make words.
Friends created hide-out and car ramps. Other friends created origami and studied sharks.
Our work spreads to every corner of the Wee classroom. We utilized our great space, took our our sweet learning/play time and encouraged gentle approaches to our friends and our work.
Welcome back. –Laurie

It was a shaving cream type of morning. Friends dove into the sensorial activity using different toys to intensify their play.
Nahla clapped her hands together which cause the shaving cream to fly everywhere. We all thought that was quite funny
.
Gross motor play involved the big blocks and friends jumping off of them! We counted: 1, 2, 3!
David had a blast trying to nibble on his feet while Annabelle loved rolling all around to get the toy that she wanted. Anna was all about clapping her hands today!
For breakfast, children had cheerios and banana. Lunch consisted of brown rice with kidney beans, pears, and peas. PM snack was string cheese and a mixture of pears and banana.
Have a terrific weekend. We’ve been hearing rumors about some snow this weekend. Everyone stay safe and warm!
What does our day look like?
We wave goodbye.
We take care of babies.

**With the weather being iffy lately and sometimes unexpected, here’s the link to the delay/closing policy. When looking at closing and delays on the news, pay attention to SCHOOL CITY OF MISHAWAKA and SOUTH BEND SCHOOLS as these are the two that we focus on. If there is a delay or closing for either of these, please watch for a text to tell everyone if we’re regular open or delayed/closed due to weather. If you haven’t subscribed to the blast text from Tami, please do so. Feel free to ask if there are any questions. If we are delayed, Wee Wee Friends will open at 10:00. Thanks so much!
(aren’t we all ready for spring?!)

Have a terrific evening!
The winter ice didn’t stop us from enjoying some time outside this morning!
We played house with many mommies, daddies, brothers, sisters and kitties.
We drove trucks over snowy sidewalks and icy ground.
We dug in the snow and hacked at the ice.
And we sold various flavors of hot chocolate from the brown house: watermelon, strawberry, and blueberry (YUM!)
Happy Thursday!

Hello!
A few friends requested paint today so we headed into the kitchen where we worked with an assortment of colors! There were a couple different strategies that children used:
Maya was very vertical today in her painting. Most of her lines went from the top of the page to the bottom. She then tried the ‘dotting’ technique where you ‘gently’ slam the paint brush onto the paper, making a specific mark.
Nahla worked on using the entire paper. She took her paint brush and made swirly marks in a big motion to cover most of her paper.
Tate and Rosemary were extremely sensorial during today’s painting activity. Rosemary took her paintbrush and painted her fingertips. She studied them really hard for a while and squished the paint in between her fingers. Tate took the blue paint and painted his hand. He put his hand onto the paper, transferring the paint! He pointed and said, “Hand!”
For breakfast, children had eggs and grapes. Lunch consisted of egg casserole with hash browns, oranges, and peas. PM snack was rice cakes with cream cheese.
Have a great night.
