“To travel, hopefully, is a better thing than to arrive.” – Robert Louis Stevenson.
It’s an idea we carry with us in an emergent curriculum classroom. When we hear an “I can’t!” we make it our job (on most days!) to focus on traveling the road to understanding how we can. Origami, puzzles, scissor work, dressing dollies, Velcro-ing shoes, using kind words and gentle touches, building blocks, Magna Tiles and Trios-these were the things we traveled with this morning. There are lots of processes to explore before we get to our destination! Have a great day. –Laurie
Wee Sprouts: Cauliflower. Breakfast: Buttered bagels and orange slices. Lunch: Whole wheat pasta with cream cheese, orange slices and corn. Snack: Yogurt and some delectable PPC fruit (afternoon delivery expected).
Happy Friday!
**Just as a reminder, we will be closed next Thursday and Friday in observance of the holiday.
**We are in need of plastic grocery bags for dirty diapers. Much appreciated!
**For families who have older children: we’re asking that you have your older children stay up at the front of the house at drop off and pickup. With the snow and salt out on the sidewalks, we’re trying to keep as much as possible out of the main area of the house due to crawling children
. Thanks!
The morning started off with a little jam session. Drums. Piano. Maracas.
We all put our maracas in the air and shook them at the same time. With all of the different maracas going at the same time, it was a beautiful sound!
Friends headed into the kitchen where they worked with pegs and number boards. Besides working on our fine motor skills, we also worked on counting.
For breakfast, children had malt-o-meal and watermelon. Lunch consisted of hummus on English muffins, broccoli, and pears. PM snack was goldfish and string cheese.
Have a great weekend!
Hello from Wee Friends!
Today was a day full of alphabet spelling, block building, game playing, car crashing, and book reading.
This morning friends also had the opportunity to learn Finger Knitting! We practiced pulling our strings under, over, under, over our fingers and placing bottom loops over top loops. Very engaging manual dexterity practice.
Have a great weekend.

Wee Friends’ Cornucopia!
In honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, today at Wee Friends we continued our exploration of what Thanksgiving is all about. We completed our cornucopia, filled with fruits and vegetables made from paper, salt dough, and paint!
We also explored what it means to be thankful. One of our Thanksgiving themed stories this morning described being thankful as “what makes you happy.” Friends were given the opportunity to share what makes them happy on a special Thanksgiving placemat. We worked on writing, gluing and expressing our ideas through both words and pictures.
We’re excited to share our completed work with you soon!
Have a great day.
-Jessica
