Hope everyone had a great weekend!

**With the drop in temperatures later this week, please make sure that your child comes with an appropriate coat for the weather. Fingers crossed we’ll make it out at least a few days Smile.

Friends chose to get out the blocks and gross motor activities. We love to move our bodies throughout the environment.

“What is this?”

This was our morning discussion.  We created paper and salt dough fruit to add to it.

We read lots of books and asked lots of questions. After The Three Little Pigs, a few friends built a house of bricks. After jamming out to Five Little Monkeys, we read two versions of the book and compared and contrasted. We got outside before the sprinkles. Hope you are having a great day. –Laurie

Good Afternoon!

Friends had the opportunity to paint this morning.

We saw many different strategies. There was the ‘try to take up as much paper as possible’ strategy. One of the most popular was ‘only sticking to one area of the paper’ strategy. However our friends completed their painting session, they explored many areas of interest such as sensorial.

IMG_1537IMG_1540

Maya kept saying, “WOW!”, when she got a lot of paint on her brush. When Lucy was on her last painting, she decided to dive in with her hands! She found it quite humorous that there was paint on her hand. Tate’s first instinct is to go straight for the mouth. He had a great sensorial experience as he painted both of his hands green!

IMG_1548IMG_1552IMG_1571

Nahla and Saskia both loved to work with different colors of paint. When they felt like they were done with a certain color, they would raise their bowls and say “more”. They both decided to take advantage of the big paper that they were given.

IMG_1561IMG_1562

It was a GORGEOUS morning.

IMG_1584IMG_1583

We were literally all smiles.

IMG_1592IMG_1595

For breakfast, children had kix and banana. Lunch consisted of scrambled eggs, mixed vegetables, whole wheat bread, and banana. PM snack was whole wheat crackers with hummus.

Have a lovely evening.

WF Wednesday 11/5 When Grownups Ask “HOW?”

038

How do you make a peanut butter sandwich?

How do you pop a balloon?

029

We asked these questions and created lessons around our weekly Literacy and Math FABS. We listened to EXACTLY what each friend said and executed their idea, just as they stated it.

041

“Put the peanut butter on the bread.”

HOW? Power. The very first exercises in learning how to communicate clearly and intentionally.

Have a great day. –Laurie
