Happy Friday!
Drawing at the art table; reading; and several rounds of wrestling outdoors—> recipe for the perfect Friday morning.
I love scrolling through Teacher Tom’s blog once a week if I can and found an article that caught my eye: “What If We Raised A Generation That Could Recapture Childhood at Will?”
An interesting statistic that Teacher Tom begins with: “According to the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking, 98 percent of kindergarteners qualify as “creative geniuses.” By age 25, only three percent can make that claim.”
“I sometimes try to imagine what it would do to the world if we raised an entire generation that could recapture childhood at will. It would be a world in which our institutions, like schools, would exist not to create standardized products as if off an assembly line, but rather to fill the world with one-of-a-kind humans free to pursue their highest potential according to her or his own genius.”
Breakfast– Brown rice cakes with peanut butter and banana.
Lunch– Ham on whole wheat bread/tortilla, fresh pears/banana, and fresh green beans/carrots/cucumber.
PM snack-Pretzels & Colby Jack Cheese
Wee Sprout– Fresh green beans, carrot, cucumber.
Have a great weekend!
