Good Afternoon
**We are going to have a small Halloween celebration tomorrow afternoon. If you’d like, please bring a costume for your child to wear. Thanks!
In K group, we read a book from our MACK collection titled, ‘Just Ask’. At the center of the book is the simple notion that if you have a question about someone, ask them. Throughout the story, we met characters who had Dyslexia, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, and Diabetes (to name a few). Of course, the questions arose, “What is ____”. So, we read the page and then afterwards, chatted about the unknown word and explored the illustrations to try to answer our questions.
There were a few times when children connected their personal life to what we were talking about in the book. For example, knowing someone who is in a wheel chair. Children were very invested in the story and at the at, the author posed the question, “How will you do with your powers?”—ask you child what they said
.
MACK Week 9: Children will celebrate the differences and similarities that connect all people.
In PREK2, children played number pickup. Children covered all of their numbers with a gem and when they picked up a gem, they had to say the number that was showing.
