Happy Friday!
After reading the third and final story in our Miss Nelson book, we played a memory game that had us matching the shape word to the correct shape. As friends found matches, they shared aspects of the shape that they knew. For example, “the square has four sides!” or “That’s not an octagon because it has six sides.”
K.G.2: Compare shapes using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, and parts (e.g., number of sides, length of sides, and vertices.)
Our Friday was jammed packed with interaction between peers. Children scattered throughout the environment and got into their Friday rhythm.
Maggie and Millie occupied housekeeping all morning, using a wide variety of toys in their play.
Franklin and a few older peers made their own books at the art table. Once they were finished with their book, they asked a teacher to staple it together!
Breakfast– Brown rice cakes with peanut butter and fresh pears.
Lunch– Melted shredded cheese and ham on whole wheat flatbread, fresh oranges/pears, and fresh broccoli/carrots.
PM snack– Pretzels and cheddar block cheese.
Wee Sprout– Fresh carrots/broccoli/pepper.
Have a fantastic weekend!
-Mindy
