Good Afternoon!
Today, we celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday in K group by reading, ‘Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose’. It’s one of our favorites! After the story was done, we filled out a chart and made a tally mark for everyone’s favorite Dr. Seuss book. Friends could choose from Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose, The Foot Book, Fox On Socks, The Cat In The Hat, The Grinch, or another book. Each friend shared their favorite. We graphed the results which ultimately let us know that Thidwick was the majority favorite!
K.W.5: With support, build understanding of a topic using various sources. (Identify relevant pictures, charts, grade- appropriate texts, personal experiences, or people as sources).
For kindergarten sign in, children completed the chart by filling in the number of items that were identified. Friends looked and searched for the following answers: how many doors in WF, how many windows in WF, how many exit signs, and how many chairs!
In PREK2, children chatted about the question: “Would you eat green eggs and ham?”
As they talked about it, Miss Kim graphed their responses by creating a pie chart!
Friends scattered throughout the environment after breakfast, quickly becoming engaged in various activities. Millie and Maggie snuggled up together in a chair, reading stories. James and an older peer perfected their puppet show before offering their friends a chance to watch it!
The art easel and sensory bin were used consistently right up until lunch time.
