Happy Friday!

In K group, friends were able to come up with a sentence using a singular or plural noun that was given to them! Identifying a singular or plural noun in a sentence is something we do often but coming up with a brand new sentence when given a noun to use is challenging!

We have started to do a new thing during group. When we cross off the current day, we make a specific mark which creates diamonds when we cross enough days off. Today, Mack realized that we’re actually making rectangles too! A simple activity like this during calendar allows children to show their understanding of shapes too!

K.W.6.1a: Nouns/pronouns- Writing sentences that include singular and/or plural nouns (e.g., dog/dogs, cat/cats)

During K sign in, children used their counting chart to count by 10’s. Once they were able to do that, they wrote down the numbers on their sign in. Everyone was able to count to 100 by 10’s—woo hoo!

K.NS.1: Count to at least 100 by ones and tens.

Miss Kim took groups of friends out who explored a puff ball paint activity. They dipped the puff balls into paint and threw or dropped them on the canvas. Children were able to cover the canvas with various paint marks—they loved the process paint activity!
