Good Afternoon!
We’ve been talking about how things move throughout the week. During K group and sign in, we’ve been having authentic conversations about fast and slow and words that are correlated with both.
Today for sign in, we spoke specifically about vehicles. Children wrote down a vehicle that was faster than a given vehicle. For example, I asked, “What is a vehicle that is faster than a bicycle?”—several friends wrote down ‘car’ and ‘racecar’.
Science: K.3.2 Investigate that things move in different ways, such as fast, slow, etc.
During PREK2 group, children used manipulatives to race on various surfaces. Using the boards from the habitrail area, Miss Kim placed various materials on the board to make different surfaces. Children quickly found out which board allowed objects to move the fastest.
Franklin and Mack have been planning to build a dinosaur all week long. They were able to draw it and once the drawing was done, they used sticks from outside to make the outline of the dinosaur today!
A new batch of moon sand was made a few days ago and because the weather didn’t allow us to go outside this morning, friends took turns exploring the moon sand!
