Good Afternoon!

Rowan asked to get a clipboard out this morning. She attached a piece of paper to it and grabbed a pencil. She came up to the island and asked, “Do you want to come to my birthday party?”—if you didn’t know, this is the most asked question during this age!

James quickly became intrigued and asked if he could do the same thing. Another peer quickly joined and the three of them sat at the island, talking about the letters in their names as well as the names of their peers and teachers.

The peer who was sitting next to James taught him how to write the first letter in his name: a C!

It was a wonderfully authentic activity that children initiated by themselves. Teachers of course stood by on the sidelines waiting to answer any questions that they may have.

Back in habitrail, Evie and Nesta made a boat out of wooden blocks. Evie steered the boat and shared that they were going to the store!

Millie used the plastic blocks to make a car and right away, two friends joined her in the car. As they were driving down the road, Millie all of a sudden said, “Ahh. Flat tire!”

Our kindergarteners helped collect sticks in the backyard for future art projects. Friends scattered throughout the yard, diving into activities and ending with books on the deck!
