Good Afternoon!

For kindergarten sign in, Evie used a pie chart to gather information. The pie chart dealt with favorite colors so she used the pie chart to answer three specific questions to the information that was on the pie chart.

K.W.5: With support, build understanding of a topic using various sources. (Identify relevant pictures, charts, grade- appropriate texts, personal experiences, or people as sources)

We continued exploring pie charts in K/PREK1 group after we read, ‘Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs’. The pie chart that we explored during group focused on favorite fruits. Children were asked questions such as, “What fruit had the most votes?” or “What two fruits had equal number of votes?”

Earlier this morning, an art activity was made available at the table. Children used black paper, glitter paint, and a leaf to make their unique creation. Each child had a leaf on their black paper and they were able to use several glitter paint colors to add to their leaf.

While exploring this project, children discussed the colors they see during the fall time.

We are definitely noticing the shift in weather as one friend stood out on the deck for 10 seconds and proclaimed, “Wow, it’s cold!”

The weather doesn’t stop us from playing and exploring our outdoor environment though!

Breakfast– Whole Grain Cheerios with banana.

Lunch– Brown rice with shredded beef, fresh strawberries/pineapple/cantaloupe, and fresh cucumber.

PM snack– Whole wheat crackers and sunflower seeds.

Wee Sprout– Fresh cucumber/pepper.
