Good Afternoon!
Evie and Mack came up with six words on their own: 2 one syllable words, 2 two syllable words, and 2 three syllable words! They wrote the words down after determining what group their word went into.
K.RF.3.2: Orally segment words into syllables.
In K/PREK1 group, we read, ‘Caps For Sale’ for the first time! A few friends had read the book before and shared specific events that they called happening in the story.
We chatted about syllables and the two ways we count them. There were several words on notecards that I chose from the story and together, kids figured out what group each word went in. If they were unsure or there were varying opinions, we checked using the clapping method and the chin method.

An art activity was made available this morning that allowed children the opportunity with work with sticks and aluminum foil!
Each child was given a piece of paper and they could glue sticks down along with using an aluminum foil ball to dot with!
