Good Afternoon!
This week, one of the concepts we’re going to be talking about is calendars and clocks, specifically what we use them for. Kindergarteners had to write down what we use clocks and calendars for on their sign in activity.
Everyday in K/PREK1 group, we go over our calendar activity where we talk about the month, day of the week, date, and year. We also identify various holidays in each month as well as birthdays. We read, ‘A Child’s Calendar’ in group where each month was discusses as well as what the weather may look like in each month as well as holidays in each month. For the most part, that’s how children identify months; by important dates to them such as birthdays and holidays.
K.M.2: Understand concepts of time, including: morning, afternoon, evening, today, yesterday, tomorrow, day, week, month, and year. Understand that clocks and calendars are tools that measure time.
Here’s a sneak peak at the rest of our day!
