Good Afternoon!
We continued to talk about the things that make a book, a book in PREK1 group! We used the book ‘Stellaluna’ which we read a few weeks ago in group so it was slightly in our memory! Children wrote their name under the main animal character in the story that offered Stellaluna a home after she was separated from her mother. Everyone was immediately able to recall that it was a group of three birds.
Later on in group, we read ‘Save It’ which focuses on money! We worked as a group to fill in our chart today, identifying the characters, setting, and three events that occurred in the beginning, middle, and end of the book.
This morning, we changed it up in the classroom, adding several new seasonal activities to explore. Working off ideas that the kids brainstormed this morning, we created a spring themed experience throughout the classroom fostering new types of imaginative play.
We hope you enjoy a few more pictures from our day!
PREK2: In group this morning, we read the story “The Sandwich Swap” after our lunch of cheese sandwiches. We each decided what our favorite sandwich was at Wee Friends after group. We found that the “majority” voted for peanut butter!
Breakfast: Kix cereal with fresh pears.
Lunch: Cheese quesadilla with smashed avocado, fresh pineapple/cantaloupe/clementines, and fresh cucumbers/peppers.
PM Snack: Homemade banana muffins and string cheese.
Wee Sprouts: Fresh cucumbers/peppers.
Enjoy the rest of the day!
