Good Afternoon!

This morning we decided to try our “treasure box jewelry” on the light table.  The kids became interested in the ones they noticed looked the same.  We decided to create a matching game in response.  Teachers sorted out pairs, then mixed them with pieces that had no pair.  The kids enjoyed looking carefully to find all of the matches.  This kind of activity is great for building focused attention, observational skills and memory.

Outdoors, kids helped plant green bean seeds in the garden.  Kids enjoyed digging small holes to plant each seed, then covering the seeds with soil.  A favorite part of the planting process for the kids was watering the seeds!

PREK2: Kids have been talking about seeing bird nests at home or in parks lately.  During group we learned about nests that different kinds of animals make in the book “A Nest Is Noisy”.  After the story, we tried to remember one kind of animal that makes a nest.
