Good Afternoon!
We had a great trip to the farm this morning! More than anything, our kiddos loved being able to run freely in an open space. It was warm and the sun was shining the entire time. We headed back to the lookout where our imagination took over and children began running with various fiction tales they told to each other. We stopped by the pond as we followed two ducks that left the barn space and headed towards the pond. We watched as they swam off together. Before heading to the weehicle for a quick drink and wee sprout, we stopped by the barn to feed a few animals such as goats. One friend proclaimed, “They love my dandelions. It’s their new favorite snack.”
Our farm trips this season have been instrumental in our efforts to allow children to connect to nature. Outside time in nature is essential for healthy child development. It improves fitness, lowers stress, and boosts vitamin D. Unstructured outdoor play enhances cognitive skills like creativity and problem solving while fostering social development and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoor environment.
We hope you enjoy a few more pictures from our day!
