Good afternoon!
This morning kids explored shapes and numbers at the light table. Some friends enjoyed finding a number and then counting out the same number of shapes. Others used small shapes to build bigger ones. One of our youngest friends noticed that she could put two triangles together to make a diamond.
Last week, a friend asked if we could do a mixing activity soon. We decided today would be a great time for a science/sensory mixing experience. We tried a new mixture of dish soap and corn starch to make an interesting slime/dough. Kids loved the process of adding ingredients themselves to try out various consistencies. As kids worked, they described the different textures, like “slimy, gooey and sticky”. Kids enjoyed making things with the dough after it was mixed. One friend made a “snowman”, which she said had very long arms”.
We hope you enjoy a few more pictures from our day!
