Good Afternoon!
We offered a ‘shape finding’ group painting’ this morning at the art center. This collaborative project got started yesterday as kids created a large painted back ground on some cardboard. Today, kids that wanted to help with the painting, searched the classroom for a shape to stamp. They found examples of circles, rectangles, squares and triangles. They enjoyed printing their shape with others on our group painting.
Another activity got started when one of our younger friends shared that he had an idea for the tuff tray this morning. He said he wanted to do an “experiment” mixing things together. We offered some materials we had available like water, flour and paint. Kids had a wonderful time mixing the ingredients and creating different consistencies. Later, they chose to pair up and try mixing their own colored concoctions with a friends.
Older kids worked more on their calendars. They tried to find a holiday for each month and they wrote the name of the holiday or drew a picture on the correct date.
