Good Afternoon!

We had a great trip to Prairie Winds Farm this morning! We headed straight for the barn where Farmer Charlotte was asking for our help with the goat, Violet, and the two new sheep! We learned about the word ‘tame’ today. Violet has been at the farm for a long time so she’s tame but the two new sheep are not. When Farmer Charlotte went into their pen, they tried their hardest to be where she was not. She told us that it’s important that she stay on the outside of the pen because if she were to move into the middle, they would get very nervous and scared. We helped feed Violet by dropping hay into her basin. Charlotte shared with us that hopefully in the future, these two new sheep will have lambs. We can’t wait to possibly see them!

We moved out into the horse area where friends worked together to scoop manure onto sleds. Two friends worked in tandum; one with a rake, scooping the manure onto the other friends shovel.

We ventured out to the pond where we spent time playing a game of ‘sink or float’ with nature items that we found.

We were quite hungry so before getting back into the weehicle, we snacked on some orange slices and water. They took down two whole oranges in less than five minutes.
