Good afternoon–
Our PREK1 kiddos came to the sign in board where they found their birthday month and wrote their name underneath of it! Later on in PREK1 group, we played off of the month topic and read ‘A Child’s Calendar’ which focuses on each month of the year and what to expect.
Our two kindergarteners came to complete their sign in where they took the seven days of the week and placed them into the correct order. They were each able to read the days of the week correctly by either sounding it out or by identifying the first letter and sound of the word. When they looked for the word ‘Monday’, they knew the word had to start with an M.
This morning, kids explored imaginative ways to use a tray of loose parts. Kids used the pieces in a multitude of ways including pattern making, counting, creating a Halloween park and a Halloween game.
In the art center we offered a black/white painting activity. Several kids became very interested in mixing varieties of gray shades. Kids typically paint with color rather than black and white so this added an element of novelty they enjoyed exploring
PREK2: During group, we read a story about planting Jack-o-lantern’s for Halloween. At the end of the story we each tried to remember one thing that happened at the beginning or the end of the story. We made a list of what we remembered on the board.
We hope you enjoy a few more pictures!
