Happy Friday!

This morning, a friend asked if we could get out the giant alphabet floor puzzle.  It was the perfect group activity to wrap up to our “alphabetizing kindergarten FAB” which was part of the curriculum this week.  Kids of all ages could help look for letters, match them to the squares, then put them in alphabetical order.

K.1.19: Learn and apply knowledge of alphabetical order (first letter) when using a classroom or school library/media center.

We enjoyed a little life science this morning, adding our first fish to the new aquarium set-up.  It was called a “Siamese Algae Eater”.  We learned that because it eats algae, it is a herbivore.  We also learned that this kind of fish has a special role in the aquarium ecosystem, keeping the plants and rocks free of algae, and so helping to keep the ecosystem balanced.
