Good Afternoon and Happy Friday! I hope you all have had a great week.

We had another upcoming friend visit the classroom today to meet her teachers and her new friends. Emily is a sibling of Maggie from the preschool classroom. We look forward to Emily joining in all of the Wee Wee fun.

Adrian was engaging in the trains this morning and thought it was a great idea to make a long train line! As he was magnetizing them together he would say, “Chooo, Chooo.”

Arthur and an older Wee Wee friend were rolling a ball to one another during outside play! How sweet is that!?!?!? Our older friend was sure to be gentle and take her time with Arthur. We absolutely love the friendships made in the classroom…. No matter the age!

Good Afternoon!

Rowan grabbed a clipboard, paper, and pencil and proceeded to go around the classroom asking the most important question a child can ask at this age: “Would you like to come to my birthday party?”

James cleaned up his toys in housekeeping and asked, “Can I get a clipboard like Rowan?”

They both went around the class asking their peers the infamous question from above. At this age, everything revolves around the ‘birthday party’ (even if it’s ten months away! Smile)

A somewhat simple, child driven interest like this starts out basic but eventually, children start working on tally marks and names of peers.

A short indoor yoga session quickly gained steam and lasted until we went outside!

Franklin lead a pretty intense yoga session outside. He found yoga statues inside and asked if he could take them outside.

He would demonstrate the pose and have friends try it on their own.

Good Afternoon.

This morning we were interested in reading stories. Friends chose many books from the book shelf and we happily listened. Some stories were stories we could get our bodies moving and act out what the words told us.

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is one of our all time favorite stories and song. This morning as we were listening to music, Miss Bekah put on this particular song and friends LOVED listening to the words and acting out what they were hearing from the narrator.

Then we were all very excited to go outside for our special water play day! We eagerly got our bathing suits on and headed out for all the fun! We had the sprinkler going so friends could run through and we also had lots of water in the sandbox, which what was the most fun for some.

Good Afternoon!

The second day of the Wee Friends Olympics saw children step out of their comfort zone! The Javelin throw (or Tube Toss as we call it) tested our physical strength and coordination.

Our older friends did a great job at demonstrating how to throw the tube for their younger peers. Miss Kim got out the tape measurer to see how long our throws were and the longest was around 21 feet!

We were able to pull up a few past Olympic videos of the javelin throw and WOW! Friends were very impressed with how far they were able to throw it.

By the end of the morning, we really got our technique down!
