Good Afternoon and Happy November.

WEE FRIENDS WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY AND FRIDAY NOVEMBER 25TH AND 26TH FOR THE THANKGIVING HOLIDAY.

Today we enjoyed talking to one another about the fun we had Trick or Treating and all the candy we received. Smile

We had fun engaging in a sensory activity at the table today. Playdoh is always a fun activity that we enjoy. Pipe cleaners were added into our play to make the experience more exciting. We bent them to make a rainbow and we also stuck them in the doh utilizing our fine motor skills.

Welcome to November!

The kindergarteners sign-in focused on singular and plural nouns. I read a sentence aloud, giving them two options to choose from (singular and plural noun) and they circled which word completed the sentence.

K.W.6.1a: Nouns/Pronouns- Writing sentences that include singular and/or plural nouns (e.g., dog/dogs, cat/cats).

We switched up our housekeeping theme today: enter…the pirates! Tools were put into housekeeping as well as new dress up clothes.

James and Millie searched through the reading area to see if we had any books about pirates and sure enough we did! They were able to find a book that had a big picture of a pirate ship for Miss Annastecia to draw.

After the pirate ship was done, children worked together to color the ship before it was put into the housekeeping area.

One of our older friends asked if we could turn over our soft star climber and play with it that way. This way of utilizing the climber is a great way to enhance our balancing skills as well as working on being brave and trying new ways of playing.

Good Afternoon.

REMINDER: TOMORROW IS A PAJAMA DAY! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BRING YOUR CHILD IN PJ’S, WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM IN THEIR JAMMIE ATTIRE

Today we engaged in a gluing activity. We put glue on an orange piece of construction paper and then placed foam letters on top of the glue. Some of us enjoyed placing the letters on top of our glue while others simply enjoyed feeling the sticky texture of glue in their hands.

Good Afternoon!

**We will have a pajama day on Friday!**

For kindergarten sign in, Mack and Evie circled the uppercase letters that they saw. They ended up circling the five capital letters that started each sentence.

In K/PREK1 group, we read two Frog and Toad stories. We LOVE Toad’s dry humor!

We gathered in a circle and looked at the story that we read. We identified uppercase letters that we saw that began each sentence. Daniel, Mack, and Evie each were asked to identify a period, exclamation point, and questions mark that they saw. After they identified the punctuation mark, I read the sentence aloud.

K.W.6.2a: Capitalization– Capitalizing the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I.

K.W.6.2b: Punctuation– Recognizing and naming end punctuation.

In PREK2, children worked together to identify the uppercase and lowercase letter match.

Happy Wednesday! What a beautiful sunny day.

Today we were excited about apple painting. An apple was cut in half and friends could see the very cool star shape that was in the center of the apple. Red and green paint was the color choice for today’s masterpieces.

Good Afternoon!

Evie and Mack worked with punctuations marks this morning for their kindergarten sign in. Yesterday, we started identifying the three common ending punctuation marks so today, they took three different marker colors to circle the periods, question marks, and exclamation points specifically.

They even went a step further and started identifying the punctuation marks in the description before the activity began!

K.W.6.2b: Punctuation– Recognizing and naming end punctuation.

Good Afternoon.

Wow!! What a busy day the Wee Wee.’s had today. Smile

A friend asked for Miss Bekah to ready teacher stories… a continuance from Miss Marty reading them yesterday afternoon. We unfortunately ran out of time for everyone that was interested to finish listening.

We enjoyed them very much and found a book that lead us into singing and acting out the song, Where is Thumbkin. Our two year old’s were very curios and interested in what each of our fingers were called. Meanwhile the toddlers would attempt to use their fingers but really got into swaying their bodies back and forth to the tune that was being sung.

PA260662PA260663

We then got engaged in a favorite song that we can also act out with our full body. See the bunnies sleeping is a classroom favorite. We sing softly while our little bunnies are sleeping, then we wake them with a merry tune and they wake up and jump all around. We then think of other animals we can be and imitate their sounds as we jump.

PA260681PA260679

PA260680

Last week we colored all over our classroom pumpkin with markers and this week we sang, Ring Around the Pumpkin and acted out those motions of falling down.

PA260701PA260700

We then placed the pumpkin in the middle of us as we sat in a circle and rolled it to a specific friend while singing with a made up tune to make this activity more interesting and fun.
