Good Afternoon!
We read, ‘Strictly No Elephants’ in K/PREK1 group. Two group of animals are discussed throughout the story: a group of normal pets (dogs and cats) and a group of irregular pets (giraffes, elephants, and skunks). There was an animal meeting and they only let the normal pets join and excluded the irregular pets.
At the end of the story, we talked about how these two groups of animals are similar and different. Several friends made comments such as, “That’s not being kind!” or “They need to include everyone!”
Social Studies: K.3.6 Identify and compare similarities and differences in families, classmates, neighbors and neighborhoods, and ethnic and cultural groups.

Each kindergartener has one sibling and that was the topic of today’s kindergarten sign in! Mack and Evie had to write one way in which they are similar to their sibling and one way that they are different!

In PREK2 group, children drew a tally mark under their preference: do they like to play with toys or read books more. The results: 4 votes for toys and 1 for books!

Food. We love it! Veggies. Fruit. Grains. It all gets devoured.
One of the staples of our menu is simple, predictable options. For example, we always serve rice for lunch on Thursdays!
When we were reading our book in K/PREK1 group yesterday, the word ‘spices’ was brought up and Mack quickly asked what spices are. I explained that spices are used to make food have a better taste and flavor.
As I made our rice this morning, we talked about the spices that I use in the rice. Friends got to look at the spices and smell them.
Conversation starter for this evening: ask your Wee Friend what their favorite wee sprout is!

Enjoy the pictures from the rest of our day!
