Good Afternoon!
In K group, we read a book from our MACK collection. This week, our MACK focuses on identifying traits within oneself that makes one a good friend.
Once we finished reading the book, we took five events that occurred within the story and sorted them based on whether they happened in the morning or evening time. We looked at the scenery of each specific scene to help us figure out if the event happened in the morning or evening.
K.M.2: Understand concepts of time, including: morning, afternoon, evening, today, yesterday, tomorrow, day, week, month, and year. Understand that clocks and calendars are tools that measure time.
Kindergarteners signed in throughout the morning. They were given four scenes from one of our favorite stories: the Gruffalo. I read each scene and using their understanding and recall of the story, they placed the four events into the order in which they happened.
K.1.4: Identify and order events that take place in a sequence.
In PREK2, children read ‘Croc Around The Clock’. After, they talked about the terms morning, afternoon, and evening. They talked about events or activities that we do in each time during the day.
Here’s a glimpse into the rest of our day!
