Good Afternoon!
After reading about two of our favorite characters, Frog and Toad, we used a tape measure to see how tall each K group member is! There were a few friends whose height is very similar so they stood back to back to see if we could determine who the tallest friend was. We wrote down everyone’s height and compared the results.
K.M.1: Make direction comparisons of the length, capacity, weight, and temperature of objects, and recognize which object is shorter, longer, taller, lighter, heavier, warmer, cooler, or holds more.
Earlier in the day, kindergarteners started off by doing this activity and eventually, everyone joined in! Each friend stood behind a piece of tape in the science area and jumped as far as they could. We measured the distance of each jump and documented it on the chart.
PREK2 friends used a scale to compare items. They put two different items on the scale and figured out which item was the heaviest and which was the lighter item.
The morning offered up opportunities for peers to work together. For example, Rowan and James worked together to build to boats using the big plastic blocks. They talked about what animals would be allowed on their boats before taking off!
Animals were made available at the art table where friends used shaving cream to give them a good bath! Shaving cream is an interesting sensory experience that most our children love exploring!
Breakfast– Kix and banana.
Lunch– Brown rice with shredded turkey, fresh apples/oranges, and fresh broccoli/carrots.
PM snack– Whole wheat crackers and sunflower seeds.

Have a lovely evening!
