Good Afternoon!

As we stepped outside, we realized how muggy it was. Let’s just say that when we headed inside for lunch, a couple of us were sweating just a tad Smile. There was a wonderful breeze every now and then!

Lucy loved sitting in the huge hole that her brother, Elliot, dug!

WF Wednesday 6/18

011

We slid into the day by sliding marbles down a variety of slopes. As ideas spilled out, we added tape to the exploration and then moved the whole operation twice, to accommodate friends interests.

026

Mel created a choir and worked with friends as they LET IT GO, belting out the lyrics and keeping time by counting and tapping 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4.  They DID want to build a snowman, and afterwards, we slid our bodies down the slippery ice mountain.

022

A group of friends erected a ceiling tall magnetic pole. “Let’s do teamwork!” exclaimed Clara! And they did. They all worked together, with Krystale as their guide.

036

Some friends spent most of their morning at the art table creating works with black tape and glue.

030

The coolest kind of peer pressure came into play at the island when Max began his Bob Books. Eventually, all four stools were inhabited by friends writing letters and words into books or exploring upper/lower case and short vowels in their Habitrail Creation Log. 043

When we slid outside into the sticky sunshiny day, Aislinn yelled “Look! The garden growed bigger than how ginormous it was yesterday!”

Good Afternoon!

**We’re asking parents for any grocery bags that you may have at home. We are almost out of diaper bags. Thanks!

Anna had a good morning becoming aware of her new surroundings. Her friends loved sitting around her! We talked with our friends about the baby and how we look with our eyes instead of touch. Children can get pretty excited in certain situations and what better situation than a new baby!?

Saskia and Naia were escorted around the backyard by two of their older friends.

Anna headed outside for a little while to see brother Owen! He is very protective over his baby sister Smile.

Have a great night!

WF Tuesday 6/17 Soft

025

The art table was a busy place this morning. Friends were using stencils to create shapes and then scissors to practice cutting those shapes with scissors. Owen’s artwork was an exercise in how soft he could make his crayon etchings. His paper was very soft, and Owen was very pleased.

031

Outdoors, mamas found their babies and softly, gently led them on an outdoor nature walk.  After spending her morning baking, Aislinn found a soft place to land before her next work began.

004

We finished our morning outdoors. With the soft wind carrying us through! Hope you have a peaceful day.

Wee Sprouts: Carrots. Breakfast: Whole wheat toast and pear slices. Lunch: Whole grain bread with refried beans, spring mix with Yogurt French dressing and blueberries. Snack: Melon and cottage cheese.

Happy Monday!

Today, we welcomed our newest and littlest friend Anna! She’s three months old. Anna’s older brother Owen is next door at Wee Friends. He loved coming over this morning and visiting with her. We’re excited to get to know Anna and her family!

With the warm temperatures this morning, we travelled outside a little early. It’s wonderful being outside with the older Wee kids. A couple of the girls have taken our younger kids under their wing (holding their hand, helping them with markers, etc.). They love it!

Also, this morning our student teacher, Miss Krystle brought in a handcrafted washer and dryer to build upon the emergent laundry interest of last Friday.  The kids truly enjoyed exploring laundry concepts further in our dramatic play area.  Thanks Krystle!!!

Happy Friday!

Since we had FANTASTIC weather this morning, Saskia, Naia, and Lulu asked for ‘wagon’! There wasn’t a cloud in the sky. They heard dogs, saw squirrels, and talked with one another along the way.

IMG_1207IMG_1208

When we were almost back to WWF, we saw a giant bush of flowers. We thought they were beautiful!

IMG_1210IMG_1209

The outside fun continued as we headed to the backyard where we drew with chalk on the ground among other things Smile.

IMG_1213IMG_1218

Taters decided to catch a little break from the sun while Maya enjoyed gently pouring sand over her legs.

IMG_1267IMG_1282

Have a terrific weekend! We want to wish all of our Dads a very “Happy Fathers Day”! You rock!

WF Friday 6/13

Wee Sprouts: Carrots. Breakfast: Whole wheat toast and bananas. Lunch: Whole grain rice with red beans, orange slices and celery.  Snack: Rice cakes and cream cheese.

We had some clothes that needed washing this morning. After Marta, Elliott and Finn finished constructing their Magna-Tile Doughnut Shop  (a multi dimensional and geometrical Wonder Work) we decided to take an impromptu field trip to the basement. To do a load of laundry. Friends really appreciated knowing what was below. We listened to feet stomping above us and tried to guess where the sound was coming from. Melinda came down and pointed out where the Potty Pipes hang. She went upstairs, flushed the toilet and we listened to the rush of water below. We measured detergent and loaded clothes in the washer. Each friend went on a hunt for one treasure to bring upstairs. Then we headed out to enjoy this amazing day.

Have a wonderful weekend. – Laurie
