Happy Friday!

Today, we witnessed Rosemary take her first unassisted steps! She’s been walking with the help of tables and shelves but this time, it was all her! We love when the big milestones start to form and take place.

Music time was just what we needed this morning.

IMG_4746IMG_4752

Another thing we needed was outside time. We got about five minutes until it started misting pretty hard so we had to come inside. We were not too happy with that decision so we all headed to the habitrail where we watched the rain and talked about it.

Anna is moving all over the place. Rolling here. Rolling there. Today, she was up on all fours!

IMG_4781IMG_4837

Maya was quite into the camera this afternoon. After taking a picture and saying, “Cheese!”, she wanted to see what it looked like on the other side of the camera. She thought it was very funny Smile.

For breakfast, children had malt-o-meal/cheerios and banana. Lunch consisted of egg roll-ups, broccoli, and plums. PM snack was whole wheat bunny crackers and hummus.

Have a great weekend! We’ll leave ya with a smile..

We spent the Wee morning celebrating three grand events: the births of Sophie, Hazel and Elizabeth. They are turning, or have turned five. We let the morning flow in and out of bday preparations, chalkboard explorations, books to read and write, games to create and puppies to emulate.

Happy Birthday dear Wee Friends! We love you and are so glad to grow with you.

Hello!

“Rain! Go away!” That’s what we said as we stood and looked out the window. It was a no go for outside time today.

IMG_4667IMG_4671

However, we didn’t let this bring us down! Snuggle time. Stories. Pretend play.

IMG_4672IMG_4682IMG_4684

We didn’t let the weather dull our sparkle Smile.

Good Afternoon!

While outside, we noticed that across the alley, a tree was getting chopped down! Friends stood over by the fence so they could get a glimpse of where all of the sounds were coming from. Lucy even tried to climb the fence to get closer Smile.

IMG_4613IMG_4636

A few friends watched from afar. We talked about what they were doing with the tree. Friends heard loud noises which happened to be the trees getting put into a machine that cut them all up!

IMG_4622IMG_4616

Nahla headed to the sandbox where she worked with her shovel and hands. Lucy and Maya enjoy the log house every morning.

IMG_4634IMG_4640

For breakfast, children had toast with butter and raisins. Lunch consisted of hummus on tortillas, corn, and banana. PM snack was peas/carrots and cheese.

Have a great evening.

WF Tuesday’s Emotion

To the tune of “Wheels on the Bus”:

“What do you do when you’re feeling sad? Feeling sad, feeling sad.

What do you do when you’re feeling sad? Squish the Play-Do.”

And so we did.

017

To the tune of “If You’re Happy and You Know It”:

“If you’re sad and you know it, squish the Play-Do!

If you’re sad and you know it, squish the Play-Do!

If you’re sad and you know it, squish the Play-Do and get it out…

If you’re sad and you know it, squish the Play-Do!”

So we squished, pounded, tossed, textured, squeezed, pinched and created with Play Do. AND we got the sadness out.

024

At every other turn, Jessica worked on letter/number recognition. She used the page numbers of a glossary to do so. As well as the letters and words of an interesting gerbil book.

037

When we heard a loud buzzing and motor sound outside, we ran out to see what it was. And we kept running. And listening to the tree trimmers.

Hope your day is happy….and you know it. –Laurie

Wee Sprouts: Grape tomatoes. Breakfast: Buttered whole wheat toast and bananas. Lunch: Whole wheat tortillas with refried beans, PPC corn on the cob and strawberry/blueberries.  Snack: Apple slices and Mozzarella cheese.

Ahh…what a difference between today and Friday.  We certainly enjoyed an extra dose of outside time this morning!

Reminder:  Our first YMCA swim day is tomorrow for Sophie, Daniel, Aislinn, Ellie, Elliott, Sloane, & Clara.  PLEASE BRING A SWIM SUIT IF YOUR CHILD DOES ALREADY HAVE ONE HERE.  GOOGLES ARE GREAT FOR THE BIGGER KIDS THAT PUT FACES INTO THE WATER.

018

Breakfast was cheerios and pears/pineapple slices.  Wee Sprouts were carrots.  Lunch was whole wheat pasta with butter/black beans, fresh broccoli and tomatoes and clementines/pears.  Snack will be whole yogurt with bananas.

Have a great day!

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

It was a perfect morning. Saskia ran straight for the bikes while a group gathered in the log house. Word on the street was they were making a special dessert! Smile

IMG_4543IMG_4548

Everyone was able to get a cup and a bucket. Friends worked on their dumping and pouring skills. The pebbles sure made a loud noise when we all dumped out our buckets at the same time.

IMG_4553IMG_4552

Once afternoon snack was done, children headed towards the habitrail area. A couple of us worked with the big blocks while others worked on conquering the ladder. A few of us are working on climbing up the ladder to see how far we can get!
