Happy Friday!

**If any parents have extra plastic bags around the house, we’d gladly accept them! We are in need of diaper bags so anything would help! Smile

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AISLINN! Tomorrow our Wee Peach turns FOUR!!!! And Happy Birthday, Tami! Tomorrow Tami Barbour turns……we’ll leave that up to her to share!!!

Fun Friday highlights:

  • Friends, measured, poured, stirred and baked pumpkin bread. They message boarded what happens, temperature wise, when it comes out of the oven.
  • Our Wee-est Wees matched and rhymed alphabet letters.
  • We created Aislinn’s bday card.
  • We explored the differences between a trumpet, banjo, piano and guitar by listening to recordings of them.
  • We entered phase two of our banjo creation: painting the pot.
  • And we played outside. In the glorious warm sunshine.

Have a great birthday weekend Aislinn and Tami!

Greetings from somewhere warm! Tate…bring us back some warm weather please! Smile See you next week buddy!

Our morning consisted of shaving cream. Messy. Sensory. White. Fun. Experimental.

IMG_5868IMG_5884

Eren started a trend. When he clapped his hands, he found that the shaving cream flew into the air in little pieces. Of course, other friends started in too. Eren, Saskia, Lulu, and Nora were clapping their hands so hard that it looked like it was snowing inside! Smile

IMG_5881IMG_5900IMG_5905

Smiles brighten our day. Even with smocks, we were a tad messy. But hey, that means we had fun!

IMG_5890IMG_5897

We were BIG fans of books this afternoon.

IMG_5909IMG_5908

The teacher books have been a hit lately. We have a few favorites including ‘Leonardo the Terrible Monster’ and ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.

Lisa invited friends and dollies to join her on the music rug this morning. They sang “Rock-A-Bye” and read the Robert Munsch favorite Love You Forever. They spoke of siblings new and grown.

013

Our banjo creations got underway as we covered balloons with Paper Mache.  We learned that the part of the banjo we were creating is called either the “body” or the “pot”.

025

Friends enjoyed another game of matching and sand block letter exploration.

018

Have a great day!

Hello!

Friends were cookin’ up a storm this morning! The play kitchen is an excellent place for friends to take what they see in real life and transform it into their play. Eren always let us know when something is ‘hot’! Lucy enjoyed taking a spoon and stirring her mixture in her bowl.

IMG_5816IMG_5815IMG_5814

IMG_5833IMG_5820IMG_5822

Lulu sat with her baby dolls as she fed each of them a bottle. Lucy and Nora played dress up together. The housekeeping area is always occupied with friends. We love pretending!

IMG_5843IMG_5848IMG_5855

IMG_5849IMG_5854

Lucy ended her afternoon by working on her walk. This pretty little lady will soon be walking..we just have a feeling Smile. She was so excited about the concept of walking, her smile lit up her face!

WF 3/5 Wednesday Squeezing the Letters

014015

“Look! I can squeeze my letter out!” said Leo as he used the tongs to pick up his scrabble letter.

002

“Will you read the Mulberry Bush?” friends have been asking. They are requesting a Wee Friends nursery rhyme collection that includes many favorites and also many new rhymes to learn. We offered our felt board characters for them to explore.

027

“Hickory, Dickory, Dock”is always a favorite. We talked about what a pendulum does and asked each friend to become one. We also asked friends “Where in your house is there a clock?”

017

Elliott measured bell pepper sticks as Mel cut the Wee Sprouts. “You have three groups now.” he expressed.

022

Max and Cassie put the finishing touches on the afternoon WF Daily Schedule.

025

The Matching Game offers, not only excellent for cognitive development, but oh the anticipation that grows as you look for THE card!

032

“How many of YOUR feet long is the snake you built?”

BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS! Wee Friends can never get enough of our read out loud togetherness.

Today, we squeezed a lot of learning moments out of our friends as we listened, observed and jumped into their Wee play.

Hope you’re squeezing a lot of happiness out of your day.

Good Afternoon!

Affection at this age is adorable. Lately, Eren has been very into giving hugs. Friends have been following suite and showing affection in different ways. Relationships truly start at this age. The excitement that friends have when other children arrive at Wee Wee Friends is a very special site to witness.

IMG_5716

Our morning was quite active.

First, we got out the shakers and made fantastic music. Some of us chose to use one shaker while a few of us had multiple shakers in our hands. When one of our friends was empty handed, we shared our shakers.

IMG_5686IMG_5697IMG_5712

During morning naps, Eren and Saskia enjoyed working with the tunnel. At first, they went in one by one. Towards the end, they found it quite entertaining to head in the tunnel together!

IMG_5781IMG_5774IMG_5780

For breakfast, children had english muffins with cinnamon and oranges. Lunch consisted of ham and cheese filled tortillas, pears, and mixed vegetables. PM snack was raisins and graham crackers.

Happy First Monday of March!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Maya and Henri had a fabulous time this morning in the gross motor area! We were all smiles Smile.

IMG_5601IMG_5600IMG_5602

While playing with the magnatiles, Eren requested a garage. So with the help of teachers and friends, a garage was made.

IMG_5605IMG_5611

He loved driving his cars down the driveway into the garage.

IMG_5613IMG_5615

Since the garage was such a hit, we extended the driveway to have multiple options where cars could be driven.

IMG_5618IMG_5621

Nora decided to build a tower with people on the top. Eren let her know that she built a big tower!

IMG_5630IMG_5646IMG_5651

All of our friends used the bean bags in different ways this afternoon. Nora worked on her colors by stating the color of each bag. Lucy and Henri used it as a sensorial experience since there are beads into the bag.

IMG_5669IMG_5671IMG_5670

For breakfast, children had cheerios and apples. Lunch consisted of whole grain noodles with kidney beans, fresh strawberries (our fave), and peas. PM snack was cheddar cheese slices and crackers.

Have a wonderful evening!
