Good Afternoon!
This morning, a friend came in sharing a nature program he had watched about snakes. We talked about setting up a snake habitat tray to explore. He thought that would be a good idea. I asked if he wanted the snakes to be in a water or sand habitat and he picked water. Kids had a great time playing with the snakes and creating hiding places for them in the leaves. We always try to support any interests kids share through reading books and creating projects or play spaces that encourage more learning.
In the art center, two of our friends have been really interested in building large dragons and monsters for the last couple of weeks. Today, they were proud of their four-eyed monster made of cardboard with yarn tentacles! These kids of collaborations are developmentally rich, helping kids build social skills through cooperation/idea sharing while using complex creative problem solving as a team.
We hope you enjoy a few more pictures from our day!
