WF 10/4 Welcome Back, Marta!!

HALLOWEEN PARADE: Thursday, Oct. 31 @ 3:45. Join us as we parade, in our costumes,  around the block! Fun for everyone!!!

007

We are so happy that Marta has come back to us!  Our ears were wide open as Marta shared stories of Italy and Africa. And one certain snake…..ask her!!!!

010

Our Wee week ends with continued interest in Halloween math and word books.

020

Doctor Finn led a team of nurses, surgeons and friends in a hospital exploration.

022

Friends presented Marta with an “M box” that they’ve spent the week putting together.

053

Friends sure are enjoying getting to know Lone Star Lizette.  LSL explained how she felt when her friends pulled her hair so much that one of her braids fell off her head. Wee Friends expressed their own ideas about pulling, pushing and the like. After Lisa read I Like Myself by Karen Beaumont, LSL sang a rendition of “Feelings”,  just like Babs.

056

Our FEELINGS are happiness that, with Marta’s return, we are a complete Wee Classroom! Onward we go…..Have a great weekend.

062

Wee Sprouts: Cucumbers. Breakfast: Cereal and bananas. Lunch: Brown rice with beef, bananas and mixed veggies. Snack: Pears and cheese.

Happy Friday!

Our three E’s (Emma, Eren, Eve) gathered this morning holding hands while spinning around in a circle! They all fell to the floor at the same time and made sure to help one another up Smile.

It was a lovely fall morning! The falling leaves are filling the backyard!

IMG_9323IMG_9324

We spent most of our morning in the sandbox or riding the cars.

IMG_9332IMG_9340

Eve and Emma enjoyed showing of their climbing abilities on the log house. They are so proud when they get to the top!

IMG_9357IMG_9382

Miss Laurie got out the trampoline and friends waited in line for their turn.

IMG_9386IMG_9394

Maya really found her feet the other day and now she loves playing with them! Tate is doing a great job at reaching for toys that he wants that may be a little out of his grasp.

IMG_9405IMG_9407

We LOVE baby smiles Smile.

IMG_9409IMG_9422

For breakfast, children had cheerios and pears. AM snack was string cheese. Lunch consisted of cheese tortillas, mixed vegetables, and pears. PM snack was cottage cheese and pretzels.

Have a lovely weekend.

Good Afternoon!

We headed outside right away this morning to ensure we got at least some outside time before the rain rolled in. When we woke up from our naps this afternoon, we looked out the window to see how quickly the rain was falling from the sky!

The rain always allows us to get into our snuggly, cuddly mood Smile.

Our baby friends are working on their movement while they’re on the floor. Soon enough, they’ll be crawling! All three of our baby friends are scooting or rolling around already! Time flies!

IMG_9267IMG_9258

Eren enjoyed sitting in the cube reading and playing with the doll house.

“Childhood, whose very happiness is love.”

Snuggles. Hugs. Kisses. Cuddles. We all love giving and receiving these throughout the day.

IMG_9298IMG_9290

For breakfast, children had cheesy eggs and grapes. Lunch consisted of soy butter on whole wheat tortillas, broccoli, and banana. PM snack was homemade applesauce (YUM!) and cheddar cheese slices.

Have a lovely evening!

WF 10/3

After breakfast, we decided to get everyone outside before the rain came!

013

019

026

We embraced our outdoor classroom by creating a Halloween math circle under our tree (whose leaves are already falling!).

042

Across the yard, friends created a leaf collage with cardboard, leaves and glue.

041

Many Wee Friends have been referencing the alphabet garland hanging on the WeeWee garage. They find their own letter as well as other friend’s letters.

049

The sky got darker by the minute! When the first raindrops fell, we hustled inside.

Lone Star Lizette stopped by. Friends have been working really hard with Lisa and Lizette on life skills. Today Lizette had a surprise! Instead of life skills, each friend had a one-on-one with Lizette so she could share her favorite thing about each of them! There were lots of hugs and compliments. After a hearty round of “Flush and Wash”, LSL was gone.

094

Tomorrow Marta returns (we think!) and we can’t wait!!!!

046

Wee Sprouts: Carrots. Breakfast: Cheerios and bananas. Lunch: Whole grain flatbread with peanut butter, broccoli and pear slices. Snack: Crackers and Barbour homemade applesauce.

For breakfast, children had cheerios and banana. Lunch consisted of cheese tortillas, broccoli, and grapes. PM snack was crackers and string cheese.

Have a great night!

WF Tuesday 10/1

If the weather permits and we are fully staffed, Tami will be taking our youngest friends to the farm tomorrow. These friends are: Zoi, Clara, Leo, Eve, Emma, Eren and Daniel.

002

It was Sophie’s lion’s desire coming through in a whisper “Can we play the Wizard of Oz?”. And so our morning began. As the music played friends, one by one, joined the skip down the yellow brick road. As always, when Somewhere Over the Rainbow began, friends collected soft pillows so they could lie in the hay, beneath the rainbow.

005

Math FAB K.2.3 – Describe addition situations.

Lisa gathered friends to the art table to count and string beads.

029

Literacy FAB K.3.3 – Identify characters, settings and important events in the story.

Using two felt piece stories: Wheels on the Bus and Humpty Dumpty, friends studied characters and heard the word used to describe who they were seeing. We sang about each character riding the bus. Friends shared observations (ex: a smiling G’ma) and we chose to sing something about her: “The Grandma on the bus says “have a cookie! have a cookie! have a cookie!” The Grandma on the bus says “have a cookie!” all through the town.”

044

Lisa gathered friends for a story. Lone Star Lizette came over to hear the story. She  shared with us that she had a cold. Friends shared with her what to do when her nose was runny. They guided her through the process of getting a tissue all the way to washing her hands.

052

Have a great day!

014

Wee Sprouts: Celery sticks. Breakfast: Cheerios and pear slices. Lunch: Hummus on whole wheat tortillas, pineapple and corn/peas. Snack: Bananas and cheese sticks.

WWF, Happy Monday!, 9/30/2013

Good Afternoon! Happy last day of September!

Tate and Maya started off their morning with floor time! It’s amazing to watch our baby friends interact. We’re growing every single day Smile.

IMG_8935IMG_8940

Emma, Eren, and Eve ventured up the log house together this morning. This is the first time that all three friends have been up at the top without teacher help! They were so proud of themselves Smile.

IMG_8955IMG_8957

IMG_8966IMG_8965

Eren pointed out that there were a ton of leaves on the ground. We went around picking up a few of our favorites. We talked about the color of each leaf we picked up.

IMG_8982IMG_8983

We had a lot to choose from!

IMG_8984

We ended the day by having Emma demonstrate what her new puppy does! Emma and her family got a brand new puppy over the weekend! Emmie sure had fun talking about her new doggie, ‘Gus’. Smile
