Happy last day of June. The months are really flying!

This morning we engaged in many indoor activities that we all loved. We were very excited to play a matching game with Miss Bekah.

Adrian and a friend played with the colorful rings. One friend even used it as a hula-hoop. Fun times.

We then had Adrian and a pal pretend they were sleeping. Pillows were gathered and placed on the floor for our bodies to lie down. We even had the dress up shoes to accompany our sleep time.

Good Afternoon!

Throughout the morning, children were given the opportunity to tie-dye their t-shirts! Friends got to choose a single color or a mixture of colors. They got to choose from yellow, green, and blue. While that was going on at the art table, other activities started popping up!

Franklin thought outside of the box with the colored pattern blocks and built a 3-D structure. We told him that we could easily blow that up and place it downtown South Bend—it was super interesting!

We headed outside this morning where children were on the search for bugs…and yummy kale in the garden! Most friends found the shaded areas in the yard and either built in the sandbox, looked for creepy crawly’s, or had a conversation with a friend or teacher.

Good Afternoon All!

Today we did another fun sensory activity that we seemed to really enjoy. We used Red, White and Blue paint with bath loofa’s to make beautiful, colorful pictures. It’s an awesome feeling to be able to paint with so many different items around the classroom.

We then happily listened to teacher stories. Miss Marty LOVES to read them and much as friends enjoy listening!!!

Happy Monday!

**Wee Friends will be closed starting Thursday, July 1 through Friday, July 9th. We will reopen on Monday, July 12. Thanks!

The art table was a bustling place this morning! There were a few children who asked for clipboards. Children grabbed pieces of paper and carried around their clipboards, adding checkmarks and names to the paper.

When we went outside this morning, the first thing we did was check the garden after the inches of rain we picked up over the weekend. Many vegetables are flourishing, especially the kale! A few friends who were in the garden asked for some kale. The kale pieces are so big!

Good afternoon. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

This morning we all had a great time engaging in the soft moon sand. While playing Adrian was telling Miss Bekah it was “fried ice” then another friend chimed in and stated the sand was snow. Snow was what stuck with friends as they continued to play!

Friends then decided to enhance their gross motor skills by climbing up and over the wood logs available for play, as well as climbing up the rocks to slide down the slide.

Happy Rainy Friday!

PLEASE NOTE: A friendly reminder… Wee Friends will be closed starting next Thursday, July 1st through July 11th for our annual summer vacation. We will resume on July 12th.

We had a multitude of fun and engaging activities today that helped us beat our rainy day blues.

Miss Bekah mixed water and shaving cream in our red bins for us to have water and sensory play all in one activity. She asked friends to find the toothbrush that was hidden in the mixture! They all found their brushes and were very excited! Smile

P6254480P6254487P6254484P6254483

We then went onto having a dance party! One of our favorite songs came on. Hair Up, off the Trolls soundtrack. As we listened and danced to this particular song we all put our hair up in the sky like the song was saying.

P6254492P6254490P6254491P6254489

Then, we had some tunnel time. We used our gross motor skills to crawl quickly through the colorful tunnel.

Good Afternoon!

**Please bring in a white t-shirt for your child by Monday, June 28th. Thanks!

Children asked for the kinetic sand shortly after breakfast. The sensory bin stayed full as children filtered in and out. The kinetic sand has been one of our favorite sensory experiences!

Right now, we have sand experiences outside and inside. Our outdoor sandbox is always full of children, exploring the sandbox and creating tons of new and interesting structures. Below is a short article that gives reasons as to why sand and water experiences are important for development.

Some of our herbs are coming in! A few friends got to try the cilantro and kale while others smelled the basil and dill.

We looked at how the tomatoes are coming in—we are so excited to be able to pick vegetables when they’re ready.
