Good Afternoon!
Non fiction dinosaur books in the science area are one of our most popular and most read topics. So, we channeled this into our new sensory bin!
Anytime a ‘new’ toy or activity makes its way into the environment, patience is often a word we use a lot. The morning message board was PERFECT for today as it talked about patience and different things we could do as we’re waiting for a turn.
At the sensory bin, four friends can engage in the activity at a time. Children do a great job at saying, “Hey ____, ‘so and so’ has left the bin if you still want a turn.” We had several children this morning waiting for a turn at the sensory bin so we referred to the morning message to see what we could do to remain calm and patient.

Anna and Penny got creative when trying to see how tall they were. They used a plastic block as the base and a wooden block to see where each of them came to on the orange plastic block. Soon, several peers was jumping in wanting to be measured.

A few older peers set up an ice cream stand down in the shade and our bug finders stopped searching for worms to ‘cool themselves off’!
