Happy Friday!
In K/PREK1 group, we read ‘A Child’s Calendar’ which is a book that focuses on the months of the year. Each month has a few pictures as well as a description about things that happen in that month. For example, February talks about what the weather may look like as well as Valentine’s Day! At this age, children associate months with things that are important to them: birthdays and holidays mostly!
K.M.2: Understand concepts of time, including: morning, afternoon, evening, today, yesterday, tomorrow, day, week, month, and year. Understand that clocks and calendars are tools that measure time.

A lot of our friends have been interested in making books this week! They make several illustrations and when they’re done, they ask a teacher to staple the book together. After William and James finished their books this morning, they sat in the reading area and read each other their book.
While there may not have been any words, that didn’t stop them from giving great details about the characters in their story as well as events that occurred.

Children got the playdough out at the art table and the spaces quickly filled up! Playdough is one of our favorite sensory experiences.

Dr. Rowan was quite thorough with the checkups she gave her friends this morning! She checked everyone’s ears, administered shots, and checked to see if there were any broke bones. One friend shared that they get a little scared at the doctor so Dr. Rowan gave them some water to help calm their mind.
