Good Afternoon!

Hope everyone enjoyed (ha!) the wintery weather today. Even though technically it’s still Fall Smile.

WF Wednesday 11/12 Outside Gear, Nap Pillows, Peanut Butter, Puppets and Play Do

PLEASE BRING IN FOR YOUR CHILD FOR OUTSIDE TIME AND NAPTIME:

Outside time:

  • Every child needs a LABELLED, INSULATED  pair of MITTENS for outdoor play, preferably to remain at WF.  Gloves are only acceptable if your child is able to independently put them on their hands with no teacher assistance.

Please note:

  • If your child has strong preferences for which hat/mittens/snow pants/boots, please make sure they are here EVERY DAY for our outside time.  This helpful in avoiding strong emotions about wearing substitute WF gear.
  • Our extra supply of snow pants is a bit sad.  If you have ones your child can leave here, that would be helpful.  Also, we’d love to inherit outgrown snow pants.
  • We would also love donations of insulated mittens for our EXTRAS bin.  Regularly children need to switch mittens halfway through our outside time when their mittens get wet.
  • A warm coat for outside play is necessary every day.  When the snow flies, we also need boots here.
  • We cannot allow the children to wear scarves for outside time as they present a strangulation hazard.
  • We go out everyday, weather permitting.  There is not a set temperature since the “real feel” varies so much with or without sunshine.  However, we are a hardy group and the children do best with daily outside time.  Since the teachers are outside with the children (and generally less active) they are able to gauge how long is appropriate based on the real feel.

Nappers at WF:  Please bring in a cot/travel size pillow AND pillowcase for your napper.  It is very important that it is the smaller size or our cots won’t stack!

Thanks! Tami

Good Afternoon!

Music flowed through the house this morning as a mixture of piano and maracas were played. We’ve been interested in the bean bags lately. Friends talk about colors as well as working on their throwing abilities Smile.

Our latest interest includes animals and the sounds they make. As we walked outside, we saw a few birds outside.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

**With the drop in temperatures later this week, please make sure that your child comes with an appropriate coat for the weather. Fingers crossed we’ll make it out at least a few days Smile.

Friends chose to get out the blocks and gross motor activities. We love to move our bodies throughout the environment.
