Good Afternoon!
We used the book, ‘Froggy’s Lemonade Stand’ for our PREK1 group sign in this morning. In the story, there’s two main settings and children wrote their name under the second setting which was the kitchen!
Later on in PREK1 group, we read the book! We filled in our chart with the characters, setting, and three events from the book.
K.RL.2.3: Identify important elements of the text (e.g. characters, setting, or events).

We brainstormed some ideas for a round table activity. The kids have been enjoying the process of brainstorming as a group and sharing ideas about projects. This is great for their creative thinking and social emotional development as they learn to navigate group problem solving. In time this will develop into a valuable life long skill. The group came up with the idea to make train tracks and car tracks out of loose parts. We found some materials they could use and they got to work! The kids used cups, popsicle sticks and drawer dividers to construct a creative interconnected track and bridge system for their cars!

The art table was busy as usual with various interests being explored including playdough using the three primary colors, drawing with kid driven spelling, and gluing!

We were thankful to get some outside time today! Every spring, children reacclimate to being outside in our backyard space. Children have to navigate various spaces such as grass, rocks, steps, and concrete. We have to contemplate if something is safe or not such as climbing on logs or jumping off of rock boulders. We love offering these opportunities for children to really learn their body, how it moves, and understand what is safe verse what is not.
